MENTOR TESTIMONIALS

I took a leap of faith and answered the request for mentors at CMAT… I have never mentored before and I usually have an opportunity to size people up before I spend a certain amount of time with them… Also, I had had a stroke in 2013 and my ability to put my thoughts and words together although not readily apparent was a challenge…. Then, I didn’t know what I would say to My Mentee, even though ideas were given to us…Being a mentor was the best thing for me!
Ideas came to me as to questions to ask her, subjects to talk about and we always had ideas for prayer… And it only got better as time went on …I started in October 2014 and ended this December 2016… She is out in the world now and plans to lead an exemplary life.. I call her and write letters of guidance and encouragement and friendship.

When I joined the mentoring program at CMAT I found myself constantly wanting to share my quest to be grateful, and to be open when learning more about God’s word. Additionally, I wanted to be able to reveal more about who I really am, and to find my fit when sharing His love.

Once becoming a part of the Christian mentoring program (CMAT) I have found myself on a continuum and changing day by day to better fit the needs of others. Specifically with mentees by less talk and more listening in ways that I can both be encouraged, and give encouragement when sharing the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. With this journey I am building confidence, and therefore believing I can do my part in supporting CMAT and others. Consequently, the Bible and the hearing/doing of the Gospel have become a more dominant force for me with each new “Good Morning” sunrise!

Thank you for assigning me a new mentee.  I gladly accept, and look forward to writing and meeting Emily.

Regarding Cynthia ….she is doing well in her transitional home, and is attending church regularly.  She has made new friendships with some really great Christian women, and they have been instrumental in assisting her with job searching, decision making and with her walk with God.  I am so proud of her!

I am so grateful to be a part of this ministry; it has blessed me more that I could have ever hoped!
